- Will converting PNG to JPG lose quality?
- JPG uses lossy compression, so there is a small quality reduction compared to a lossless PNG. At quality settings of 80–95% the difference is invisible to the naked eye. Use the quality slider to find the right balance.
- Does converting PNG to JPG remove the transparent background?
- Yes — JPG does not support transparency. Transparent areas will be filled with white when converting. If you need transparency, keep your image as PNG or convert to WebP.
- Why would I convert PNG to JPG?
- JPG files are typically 50–80% smaller than equivalent PNGs for photos. This makes them faster to load on websites, easier to email, and more compatible with upload forms that reject PNG.
