Supported Formats

Resizeify accepts JPG, PNG, WebP, and (on the HEIC converter page) HEIC/HEIF as input. You can export to JPG, PNG, or WebP regardless of the original format.

  • JPG — smallest file size; ideal for photos, passport images, and any upload portal with a strict KB limit.
  • PNG — lossless; best for screenshots, graphics with text, and images that need a transparent background.
  • WebP — 25–35% smaller than JPG at the same visual quality; supported in all modern browsers.

Privacy Guarantee — Your Files Stay on Your Device

All resizing, compression, and format conversion runs entirely inside your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. No image data, document content, or metadata is ever uploaded to any server. This includes sensitive files like passport photos, signature images, ID documents, and application form attachments. When you close the tab, all temporary data is discarded. Frequently asked questions

What file size is required for application form photos?
It varies by portal: government applications often require 20–50 KB; job portals typically accept up to 100–200 KB; university admissions usually allow up to 500 KB. Always check your specific portal's instructions.
Will my photo still look good at 100 KB?
Yes — for a standard passport-style portrait photo, 100 KB at typical web dimensions (600×600 or 800×1000 px) is more than enough for clear, professional quality.
Should I use JPG or PNG for application forms?
JPG is almost always preferred. It produces much smaller files than PNG at the same dimensions. PNG is lossless and harder to compress to very small sizes.
What if the portal asks for both a size limit and specific dimensions?
Use Dimensions mode first (resize to the required px), then switch to File Size mode and compress to the size limit. Or use both in one step by setting the dimensions manually after uploading.
Is Resizeify safe to use for sensitive documents, passports, and signatures?
Yes, 100%. Resizeify operates entirely client-side inside your web browser. Your photos and documents are processed locally on your device and are never uploaded to external servers or stored anywhere.
