Supported Formats

Resizeify accepts JPG, PNG, WebP, and (on the HEIC converter page) HEIC/HEIF as input. You can export to JPG, PNG, or WebP regardless of the original format.

  • JPG — smallest file size; ideal for photos, passport images, and any upload portal with a strict KB limit.
  • PNG — lossless; best for screenshots, graphics with text, and images that need a transparent background.
  • WebP — 25–35% smaller than JPG at the same visual quality; supported in all modern browsers.

Privacy Guarantee — Your Files Stay on Your Device

All resizing, compression, and format conversion runs entirely inside your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. No image data, document content, or metadata is ever uploaded to any server. This includes sensitive files like passport photos, signature images, ID documents, and application form attachments. When you close the tab, all temporary data is discarded. Read our Privacy Policy.

Frequently asked questions

Why convert WebP to JPG?
WebP has excellent browser support, but some older apps, email clients, and image editors don't open WebP files. Converting to JPG ensures maximum compatibility.
Will the converted JPG be the same quality as the WebP?
At quality settings of 85–95%, the converted JPG will look virtually identical to the source WebP. The file will typically be slightly larger because JPG is less efficient than WebP at the same visual quality.
Does this work on WebP images with transparency?
Yes, but transparent areas will be filled with white in the JPG output since JPG doesn't support transparency. Convert to PNG instead if you need to preserve transparency.
Is there a file size limit?
Yes — up to 50 MB input. All processing happens locally in your browser using the Canvas API.
Is Resizeify safe to use for sensitive documents, passports, and signatures?
Yes, 100%. Resizeify operates entirely client-side inside your web browser. Your photos and documents are processed locally on your device and are never uploaded to external servers or stored anywhere.
