Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Short version: Resizeify never sees your images. Everything happens inside your own browser — nothing is sent to any server.
1. Overview
Resizeify (“we”, “our”, “the tool”) is a free, browser-based image resizing and compression utility. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Because all image processing runs entirely on your device using the browser’s built-in HTML5 Canvas API, we are structurally incapable of accessing, storing, or transmitting your image files — even if we wanted to.
2. Image & Document Processing
All file operations — resizing by pixel dimensions, compressing to a target file size, format conversion (JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC), and any other transformation — are performed 100% locally inside your web browser. Specifically:
- Your image files are read directly from your local device via the browser File API.
- Pixel manipulation is performed using
HTMLCanvasElementand the Canvas 2D rendering context — browser-native technology that requires no network connection. - The processed image is written to a temporary Blob URL in browser memory and offered as a direct download. It is never serialised and sent over the network.
- HEIC conversion uses heic2any, a JavaScript library that also runs entirely client-side. No HEIC data leaves your device.
- EXIF metadata embedded in your photos (GPS coordinates, camera model, timestamps, etc.) is neither read nor transmitted by Resizeify.
- When you close or navigate away from Resizeify, all temporary Blob URLs are revoked and the image data is discarded from memory. Nothing persists.
3. Data We Do Collect
Resizeify itself does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. However, the following third-party services operate on this site and may collect anonymous usage data:
3a. Vercel Analytics
This site is hosted on Vercel. Vercel Analytics collects anonymous, aggregated page-view data (page URL, referrer, country, device type) to help us understand how the site is used. No personally identifiable information is collected. See Vercel’s Privacy Policy for details.
3b. Google AdSense & Advertising
Resizeify uses Google AdSense (publisher ID: ca-pub-1435687773201080) to display advertisements. Google AdSense may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve ads that are relevant to your interests based on your browsing history across sites.
Key points regarding AdSense and your privacy:
- Google may use the DoubleClick cookie to serve ads based on your previous visits to Resizeify and other websites.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time by visiting Google’s Ad Settings.
- You can also opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
We do not share any personal data with Google AdSense ourselves — we have no personal data to share. Advertising cookies are set directly by Google.
4. Cookies
Resizeify itself sets only one first-party cookie: a small theme preference cookie (theme) that records whether you have selected light or dark mode. This cookie contains no personal information and never leaves your browser.
Google AdSense may set third-party cookies as described in Section 3b above.
5. Children’s Privacy
Resizeify is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has used this site in a way that raises privacy concerns, please contact us.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects when the most recent changes were made. Continued use of Resizeify after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
